Social Fireman

Penngrove Social Firemen was started over 50 years ago by volunteers of the Penngrove Fire Department, hence the name. While the Social Firemen no longer have strong ties to the fire department, they have grown with the community into an organization numbering almost 150 members.  Members include carpenters, contractors, artists, attorneys, mechanics, truckers, ranchers, and painters, among many other professions.

The primary focus of the Social Firemen is support of the community.

Every summer on the Sunday closest to July 4, Penngrove celebrates the 4th of July with a parade sponsored by the Penngrove Social Firemen. On Saturday at the Penngrove Fire Station, located at the corner of Main Street and Old Redwood Highway, the Rancho Adobe Firefighters' Association sponsors a breakfast.

In December the Social Firemen sponsor the Holiday Parade of Lights on Main Street. Rain or Shine it is a must attend event that is growing in popularity.
